Professor Jay Pottenger (6th September 2002– 31st August 2003)
Professor Pottenger is a recognised scholar in the area of clinical law and currently holds the position of the Nathan Baker Clinical Professor of Law and Director of Clinical Studies at Yale Law School and also Director of Yale’s Clinical Program (the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization). He intends to pursue several projects during his stay at the Centre. Firstly, he plans to work on a book on the theory and implementation of clinical legal education that he has been asked to co-author with colleagues from the People’s Republic of China. Secondly, he hopes to put together some shorter, descriptive pieces regarding this clinical work. Finally, Professor Pottenger plans to complete an empirical study of professional conduct training among aspirants to the Bar of England and Wales that he began several years ago.
