Rinaldo Cristofori (Trinity Term 2009)
Rinaldo is a visiting PhD student from the Università Statale of Milan. His research project aims to determine which role religion, intended both as religious beliefs and religious communities, play in transitional justice. His thesis approaches the subject from a socio- legal perspective. In his research Rinaldo is trying to understand how religious beliefs effect the reconciliation process and how religious leaders are involved in a democratic transition. His former studies regard Law & Religion and human rights. After obtaining a J.D. in Law at the Università Statale di Milano, his experiences brought him to Brussels, at the European Parliament, and then to Siena where he did an MA in human rights. He is currently at the third and final year of his PhD.
