Agnieszka Kubal

Agnieszka is a Research Officer at the International Migration Institute, ODID, University of Oxford. Her research interests lie broadly at the intersection of legal and migration studies.

She received her DPhil from the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies for her thesis entitled: ‘Socio-Legal Integration of Polish post-2004 EU Enlargement Migrants in the United Kingdom’ (2010). She holds an MA in Sociology (Jagiellonian University, 2006) and an MA in European Studies (University of Exeter, 2007). Her book entitled: Socio-Legal Integration. Polish post-2004 EU Enlargement Migrants in the UK is forthcoming with Ashgate.

She currently pursues research projects in the areas of European migration systems (THEMIS project), migrants' legal incorporation, comparative legal culture and social theory (structure-agency interplay). She teaches political sociology (Harris Manchester) and Socio-Legal approaches to Migration (MSc in Migration Studies, ODID). She is a member of SLSA and Migration Law network.
