Biography:

Born in Winnipeg, Canada, Claire holds a B.Sc. and a LLB/BCL from McGill University, an International Masters in Environmental Policy from Roskilde University in Denmark and an International Baccalaureate Diploma from Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong. 

Claire started her DPhil at the Centre in 2011 and is examining the effectiveness of climate change litigation.  Claire has been working on international climate policy since 2003, including three years as a fellow of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research’s Climate Change Programme where she worked on capacity building initiatives for developing countries.  In 2008, Claire was awarded a Gordon Global Fellowship to research the role of technology cooperation and transfer in the international climate negotiations.  Claire has extensive experience working with civil society at the international climate negotiations and plans to broaden these efforts to include climate related public interest litigation.
