Biography

Po-Hsiang started his doctoral study at the Centre in 2011. His current research project is about the transnational risk regulation mechanism in the European Union, with special focuses on European environmental and financial regulations.

Before coming to Oxford, Po-Hsiang was a practising lawyer in Taiwan, dealing with cases mainly relating to public-private partnership, investment disputes and corporate finance. He found his research interest in EU law during his visiting study year in Freie Universität Berlin, Germany (2007-08), and later on completed his master thesis on the EU regulation of genetically modified organism (GMO).

Broadly defined, Po-Hsiang’s academic interests include science, technology and society (STS), European law, transnational governance and risk regulation. His doctoral research is supervised by Dr. Bettina Lange.
