Biography

Rebecca is reading for a DPhil in Socio-Legal Studies. Her research focuses on mechanisms that promote the accountability of judges and the judiciary in deeply divided societies or states emerging from conflict.

Prior to joining the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Rebecca studied at the University of Otago in New Zealand. As an undergraduate she had the opportunity to intern at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C. After graduating, Rebecca worked as a Judges’ Clerk at the New Zealand High Court and later interned in the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. She then completed a Master of Arts at King’s College, London, focusing on the domestic and international operation of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. Rebecca is an Old Members’ Scholar at University College and a member of the Oxford Transitional Justice Research group.
